- (Difficult) These sections were very theory-rich. I had a hard time following the proofs, as I often do. I didn't understand in the proof for Fermat's Little Theorem why it said that x and y were congruent, but also said they were distinct. Perhaps they were trying to prove they were distinct? Hopefully some of the things we learned in CS classes will come back.
- (Reflective) I thought it was amusing how section 3.6 started by saying that the theorems had been admired for their theoretical value, but apparently have only more recently used in practice. I guess I kind of wondered why people would admire theorems that had no use. Although, I didn't understand them completely, as I read through them, I can see how they could be thought of as very clever, interesting, and even admirable. I'm glad people have found a way to use them :-)
